Your guide

I’m Mauro, an International UIAGM Mountain Guide. For years, I’ve followed my passion across the Alps, Patagonia, and the high peaks of the Karakorum. I’ve been living in Arco since 2001 — the same year I founded my mountaineering school as a way to share my love for the mountains with you. I’ve selected a team of skilled, passionate local guides I’m proud to work with. They’ll take you into the mountains with the same spirit that’s guided me from the beginning.

Description

Canyoning Rio Nero means pure adventure and fun in Val di Ledro, just a few minutes from Lake Garda.

For thousands of years, this river has carved its way through the rock, creating a stunning landscape of gorges, caves and dramatic formations surrounded by wild vegetation all along the descent.

With a mix of features – natural slides, optional jumps and spectacular rope descents – Rio Nero is the most popular canyoning choice in the Lake Garda area.

In the Rio Nero canyon, sporty types can dive into crystal-clear pools from various heights – but if that’s not your thing, your alpine guide is always there to help you abseil down.

Requirements

• Don’t be afraid of water, height and rather closed spaces
• Minimum weight 40 kg
• Good physical shape to face the 30 minutes of approaching the river with a wet suit
