Your guide

Pleased to meet you, I am Gino, International Mountain Guide UIAGM for over 20 years. I teach rock climbing and mountaineering with personalised courses for children, teenagers and adults. I accompany beginners, enthusiasts and climbers into our mountains. I look forward to welcoming you to Lake Garda and sharing with you the beauty of our mountains in complete safety.
Description
The smugglers’ route, also known as Massimo Torti alpine path or “Via dei Contrabbandieri”, is not via Ferrata but an unequipped alpine route overlooking Lake Garda between Riva del Garda and Limone. I could define it as a horizontal alpine path to be faced with the same techniques of vertical climbing.
This route alternates trekking, via Ferrata and overhanging alpine passages that take your breath away.
The fixed steel wire is located in only a few places; to cross it you walk and climb belayed by the mountain guide’s rope.
It is stunning and famous, certainly one of the most scenic and exciting routes but requires experience in via Ferrata or climbing.
It is not suitable to children or anybody who suffers from vertigo or has a fear of heights.
